Tarjeta de transporte (Travel Card)

This is a rechargeable travel card that allows an unlimited number of journeys to be made depending on the available balance.

This multi-modal, combined-use card provides users with the convenience of paying with a single card and reduced fares.

Where can I use the travel card?

• On long-distance buses within Malaga’s Metropolitan Area.
• On local buses in Málaga, Alhaurín de la Torre, Benalmádena, Rincón de la Victoria and Torremolinos.
• On Renfe’s suburban train service C1 and C2 – the card can be used to purchase tickets (single, round trip and ten trips tickets) from the machines located inside the train stations.
• On underground trains in Malaga, Seville and Granada.

How to use the card:

1. Purchase and top up: Buy the card at an affiliated kiosk or tobacconist and add a minimum of €5. 
2. On buses:
   • Tell the driver your destination. 
   • Present the card to the fare-canceling machine reader when boarding. 
   • The card will show the fare and a ticket will be issued. 
3. On Cercanías commuter trains:
   • Tap the card on the scanners at the turnstiles when entering and exiting the stations. 
   • The fare is deducted, and the remaining balance is shown. 

Key Features:

• Multi-validation: One card can be used by multiple passengers (up to 15) traveling together as long as they are in the same group. 
• Discounted fares: The card offers significant discounts on bus and train fares, saving money for frequent travelers. 
• Network validity: It is valid on all public transport within the Malaga Transport Consortium network, including buses and the local commuter trains. 
• Rechargeable: You can recharge the card with funds at various affiliated points of sale. 
• Balance limit: The accumulated balance on the card cannot exceed €500.
